Who the heck is Jay Stevens?
Currently residing in beautiful Nanaimo BC Canada, Jay Stevens
is a Guitarist/Bassist/Vocalist/Music Educator/composer and
professional sideman. Jay is an Endorser of
Godin Guitars and
had been playing their fine instruments since 1993,
becoming a Godin Artist in 2001.
Jay has been the bassist in the
Mark Crissinger band
since 2015 and appears on 3 of his albums.
- 2016's Night Light
- 2018's Live at Water Wheel Park (which Jay also mixed
and mastered in his studio.)
- 2019 Believe in Love
In his long career he has also played for
artists such as Jack Dekeyzer, Kenny Blues Boss Wayne, Lloyd
Jones, Paul Pigat, Tony D, Steve Kozak and many others.
He has headlined music festivals, made numerous radio and TV
appearances and shared the stage with the likes of Buddy Guy,
Johnny Winter, George Thorogood, Colin James, and many more.
Jay Stevens is an in demand music composer for production
music for TV shows and commercials. His music has appeared on
shows such as Counting Cars, Mob Steel, The PGA Championship
Tournament, Rust Valley Restorers and many more.
Jay spent 15 years touring and recording with David Gogo,
during which 4 albums were Juno nominated.
He appears on 6 of David Gogo's albums

Jay is proficient in many different genres of music and has
played with country, rock, blues, folk, metal, punk,
funk,disco, rockabilly and progressive instrumental bands.

Known for his "big ears" Jay is comfortable at subbing for
other musicians in live situations (usually last
minute!) or coming up with parts on the spot in
recording sessions.
Jay has been teaching professionally since 1993 and opened the
"
I Wanna Rock" school
of music in 2007 where he teaches Guitar, Bass and Keys.
He has taught 1000's of lessons in his teaching career with
many students going on to attend University, playing
professionally in nationally recognized bands, and even plays
in bands with former students. He has experience teaching at
several camps and workshops and his teaching style is
performance based to get you playing better while having fun.
